The crackle is designed in, not wear damage, so it can't degrade into a look it isn't already. It's screen printed into the fibre rather than heat-pressed on top, so there's no vinyl layer to lift at the edges. Cold wash inside out, tumble low, it holds. Peeling complaints almost always describe transfer prints. This isn't one.
It's a deliberate garment acid-wash applied after construction — the process that gives vintage tees their soft charcoal cast. That's why tone varies slightly across the body and why no two pieces are identical. Flat uniform black would have been cheaper. It also would have looked like a blank.
No, because the weight does the structure. A thin oversized tee collapses on a slim frame and looks borrowed. At 240 GSM the shoulder holds its line and the hem stays flat, so it reads architectural instead of droopy. Take your normal size; size up only if you want it enormous.
Pre-shrunk during the wash process, so the fit out of the bag is the fit you keep. Cold wash, low tumble or hang dry. Skip the hot cycle — that's the only way to lose length on any heavyweight cotton tee.

This was my whole worry. Washed it cold inside out four times and the graphic looks exactly like day one. The crackle threw me until I realised it's meant to be there. Feels far heavier than the tees I've been buying.
